Halloween

Happy Halloween!

Adam took this picture of me as Alice when I was on my way to a Halloween party at a roller rink. It was outta-sight!

Don't eat too much candy!

Three Hopeful Thoughts

Our latest Typography project:

We had to come up with three different concepts incorporating this graphic of an old man.

I had tons of fun with it.

With A Little Help From My Friends

On Sunday, Zak, Adam, Chris, and I piled into Zak's car and drove to Wisconsin. I stayed at my friend Deanna's house for a couple nights. It was tons of fun to hang out with everyone and just realx.
We saw Across the Universe on monday. It was so amazing that I plan on seeing it again.

Locate the Pieces

My Mother and I went to the thrift store today and found some really fun stuff.

The suitcase is the medium sized part of a set. I didn't want to split it up, but it was in better condition than the other two.
I think I am going to make that crazy bird towel into a pillow, and my mom is going to do something with the other two.

The mug is for Sam, when she returns from her roadtrip.(Miss You!)
I bought the scarf for a 50's chic costume i'm trying to pull together. Maybe by next Halloween I will have all the pieces.

AMC had a Hitchcock marathon today. I watched parts of The Man Who Knew Too Much, and Dial M for Murder. Then I watched Rear Window and the Birds.

Not trying to have a bird theme today, it just happened.

No More

This week was midterms for all of us here @ the University. I am so glad it is over, although I am dereading the thought of what my grades will look like.

Now I have no more clases & no more homework, till Wednesday.

Ahhh Relaxing.

I recently realized that I haven't listened to enough Matt Pond PA lately. They really are the ideal autumn soundtrack. I bought their latelst CD @ Reckless last weekend. It is totally boss.

Me & My Friends

Yesterday was the big day - the Kevin Devine concert. Nancy and Gregg headed into the city for a film festival. Me, Barb, and Chris headed down around lunch so that Barb could meet up with her cousins to eat. Chris and I explored belmont and ended up finding some really sweet stores. Reckless Records was awesome, but a little overwhelming and crowded. I bought that really funky dress at a little thrift shop called Land of the Lost. I scored some Andy Warhol wrapping paper from Uncle Fun.

It was the third time for my roomies and I to see him perform, the boys hadn't really listened to him. The first band was called Titles, and they were pretty good. Then we heard Andy Hull , who blew me away. Next up was Kevin, who was completely devine. Last was
Owen
, but I only really liked one of his songs.

Kevin sang a new song about a dog named Murphy, which was really odd because my dog is named Murphy. I talked to him about it after the show. He thought it was a strange coincidence as well.

I have a lot of respect for that man. He comes to the show after being on the road all day, he has a cold, but he puts his heart and soul into his performance, then as soon as he gets done, hes tired and sweaty but he goes straight to his merch booth to sell stuff, chat with fans and pose for pictures. I've never heard him be rude to a fan. He's so humble and down to earth.

You Really Got Me

Oh my! I've been tagged!
Sarah tagged me a while back, and now I'm finally putting up my post.

The rules:

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules. (You can find the Etsy shop and blog for my tagger above).

2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).

4. Let them know they've been tagged.

1) In my opinion, my best feature is the tiny dot at the corner of my mouth. 'Beauty marks' always used to be associated with glamour, right?

2) In 4th grade I had over 40 bee stings at one time. A bee's nest fell off of my neighbor's house, and landed in this dark shadowy area between their house and my friends house. We were out playing and I ran through the agitated cloud of them accidentally. It was almost like having chicken pox again.

3) I was born in New Jersey.

4) I am allergic to life. To be more specific, I had an allergy test done, and reacted to everything. Especially shellfish, ragweed, and grass.

5) I can tie cherry stems in a knot with my tongue. It is a mostly useless skill to posess, but it entertains me.

6) Bubble Gum Ice Cream is my favorite. My first memory of this treat was at Bonnie Doon when I was in elementary school. It is a little hard to find now. Baskin Robbins carries it, but you never know when you will see it there.

7) I adore robins. They are by far the best kind of bird. They always come to rescue us from winter, and they are so much fun to watch.

I have decided to tag:

Adam

Corey

Hayley

Barbie

Kyle

Eric

Kym

Happy Birthday

Today was my little sister's birthday. It was tons of fun to spend some time with my family to celebrate. We watched Premonition , and I still can't really figure out what to say about that movie. It left me in a very odd mood. I don't reccomend seeing it, but Mer really loves it. My family kept on doing things in reference to the movie to try and freak me out.

Happy Birthday Weasel!
I love you!

The Artist

Long day, followed by a late night in the studio. I'm working on an awareness poster for my typography class. My topic is the death penalty. I looked pretty morbid and creepy sitting at the lunch table with my sketchbook doodling little nooses and writing death over and over... Tonight, Adam, Kym, and I had to stretch our canvases for painting class. I absolutely love how it feels to have created an canvas. It makes the entire piece your own creation. It is so much fun!

I stayed a bit later than them to clean everything up. Its kind of fun to roam the studios at night, when nobody is around. Then the skeleton got a little too fresh with me and I had to leave...
