Thanks

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
It was nice to have a little break from my classes. I got to spend a lot of time with my family and my boyfriend, and visited a lot of my old friends.

I finally cleaned up this awesome cabinet that my mother bought me at an estate sale we went to. It only cost $3!
Now it's back to class. Today I saw a presentation form a local design firm called Rule 29 . They do some really cool stuff.

Viva Las Vegas

Last Night was Vegas Night, an event hosted by my lovely friend Kym for Tower residents and friends. It was really cool since our dorm used to be a hotel, the setting was ideal. The school Jazz band was there to perform live for us, and there were plenty of snacks and poker chips. Check out the high rollers!
Congrats Kym! You threw a rockin' party.

I love any excuse to dress up. I felt a bit like Betty Page in my 50's pinup dress.

It was pretty fun to see my boyfriend dress up and actually wear a tie. I think I wear one more often than he does.

Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros

Earlier this week I was on the phone with Borders to find out if they had Flight of the Conchords on DVD, and when they put me on hold their music was the Pipettes! I was pretty stoked about that. They told me that the DVD was ordered, and it should be in by Friday so I called again today, but they hadn't been unpacked yet, and they said to check back in the afternoon. So I swung by the store later and the guy working there was so excited to hear that a fellow fan of the show was coming by that he put a copy on hold for me. We had a pleasant little chat about our mutual love of the group and he mentioned a possible upcoming live tour. I sure hope they come to Chicago!

Happy Birthday Mom

I have shocking news for all of you - I baked something!

I baked this cinnamon applesauce cake for my mother because her birthday is tomorrow.
Happy Birthday!
Enjoy your day off.

Circus of Horrors

My latest project for Digital Tools II :

Our assignment was to create a series of product designs.
I've never been to the circus, but I really enjoy vintage circus imagery.
