City Traffic Puzzle

I went back to Topnotch on Wednesday and got my nose pierced!

It has been doing pretty well, and it only hurt when he did it, I was fine after.

We went to Chicago today with Jimmy and Stefani.I had to go to the Hopper exhibit at the Art Institute for my methods and critique class.

It was a great exhibit, just too much money and waiting in lines.

Birth-day

Today was my birthday! I'm 20, which is cool because I'm not a teenager anymore, but I still can't get into a lot of the concerts downtown that I want to. Everyone tells me not to be in a hurry to grow up, but really I'm not. I can stop after 21. :)

I snapped this picture of a few of my presents. Chris gave me Charade! I've really been wanting to watch it since I bought found the soundtrack on vinyl at Goodwill a few weeks ago. I haven't gotten the present from my parents yet, but I know what it is. A Gocco! It hasn't arrived yet, but I am super excited.

We went to Topnotch today for me to get my nose pierced, but they were out of the jewelry I wanted. They are supposed to get it in stock tomorrow though, so we will be going back.

Happy Easter!

We had Kirk, Lori, and Alex come over for the weekend. A.J. Brought over her hedgehog to show Alex, who is 5 years old. She wasn't too sure about such a prickly little creature. Then we dyed some eggs, which Chris had never done before. He made a really cute Mr. Yuk egg. (I hope most of you remember who that is!)
We also celebrated my birthday, which is coming up on Tuesday. Alex was so excited about birthday cake. She kept asking me "Will there be party games?" She decided that dying eggs was a good party game.

Be Gone

Happy Good Friday to all of you!
I thought I would try making one of my little stump characters in digital form.

Right now I would like to jump into this scene. It looked like this yesterday, but it has been snowing all day long. I just hope it goes away before Sunday.
Seriously winter, be gone!

The Trees and the Wild

This is my latest work. I learned to crochet a couple weeks ago and have been working on all kinds of little projects since then. I can't wait to show you guys what I am going to do with the mushrooms!

Rockin' Robin

I have been anxiously awaiting the return of the robins. I have kept my eyes peeled for weeks to catch a glipse of the first robin of spring, but alas he was no where to be found. Then today, I was on my way to work when there in front of me were FIVE of them hopping about on the lawn! Spring is coming!

Memories

This morning I turned on the TV while eating breakfast, and guess what was on?
WISHBONE!

I used to watch Wishbone pretty much every day. I own quite a few Wishbone stuffed animals, action figures, and fast food toys. It was, and still is, and truly great program. I'm so glad I got to see it again.

Spring break is now officially over and classes resume tomorrow morning. I have quite a bit of homework due Tuesday, which I didn't work on nearly enough this past week. Yay college!

Doll Is Mine

It was an afternoon of Camera Obscura and Black Apple dolls. My mother and I decided to try the pattern for the dolls that Emily made on Martha Stewart. My mom decided to use the pattern without enlarging it, so her dolls are much smaller than mine. Obviously, I have not finished mine. I need to sew up the hair, add a few accessories, and of course, give her a face.

The Moneymaker

When I woke up this morning my ebay listing had already sold. Someone took me up on the 'buy it now' option only a few hours after I listed it. Pretty sweet. My mom told me she has a lot of other things for me to sell on ebay, and I can keep the money. We'll see how it goes.

Chris and I spent the day in Racine visiting his parents. I finally got a picture of this really cool building that we always pass. I guess there used to be a chain of grocery stores in Wisconsin that no longer exists, but you can still find the buildings all over the place.

His Cheesburger

Sarah reminded me that I forgot to tell you all what I got Chris for Valentines Day! I never did end up taking pictures of it, but this I will use the phot from the ebay listing. Well here it is -

If you haven't seen Juno, you may not appreciate it as much. Chris has successfully used it to make a call, so it really does work!

I ordered it on ebay, which I have been a buyer on for a long time. I always wanted to try selling, but it just seemed too complicated. Well, I finally decided to give it a try, and I have listed a big lot of Harry Potter action figures and lego sets.

So if you are interested, please take a look at my listing.

Happy Birthday

Today is my Dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!
Chris and I made a spaghetti dinner to celebrate, and it actually turned out awesome! (See mom? You don't have to worry about my lack of cooking skills.) Then we watched a bunch of episodes of a tv show called The Prisoner. It is a show from the 1960's about a spy who resigns, gets gassed in his apartment and wakes up in a strange village that is right out of 1984. I would say it is a combination of LOST, 1984, and a bit of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.
I highly recommend it. I had never heard of it before, but as we watch it, we find things that have been copied or parodied many times in other movies and shows.

I set the VCR to tape Martha Stewart today, and have been counting down the days to see Emily Martin on tv! Unfortunately, my VCR simply refused to change when we turned our clocks forward, so it did not record till an hour after it should have. By the time I got home and realized this, it was 12:40, and too late. :(
I await its internet arrival with great anticipation.

Fashion Victim

In my opinion, Project Runway is the only reality tv show worth watching. These people actually have to have a great deal of skill to get on the show, and have to work really hard to stay there.

This was season four, and by far the best season yet. Everyone seemed to be a lot nicer to one another. They got along better and helped each other out. It was refreshing to see that.
Even though Kit and Sweet P didn't make it to the top 3, I was thrilled that Christian made it, even more thrilled for him to win. Love him or hate him, you gotta respect the kid, yes kid. He is only 21 years old.

Not only did he win the whole competition, he won the fan favorite. So, he recieved $10,000 on top of the $100,000, article in ELLE magazine, new car, and he can sell his clothing line on Bluefly.com.
He has way more direction than anyone I know that is our age. He took his talent and his ambition, and look where he ended up. I am really inspired by him. Thank you Christian, you give hope to our generation.

Sunlight

The sun came out and it broke 50 degrees today! Even at 8 p.m. I could walk home from my studio without hat, gloves, or scarf, with my head up! We were all very happy, especially Nancy.

It was nice to have a good start to our week, which is going to be horrible. It is midterm time here, in a week we will have our spring break, but we really have to earn it first. I have two tests, and a critique, but on top of all of that, we sophomores have to submit our portfolio for mid program reviews. Le Sigh.

Here is a picture of a little painting I did a few weeks ago.

In other news, if you havn't heard, EMILY MARTIN WILL BE ON TV! She's going to be on the Martha Stewart Show March 11. I think all of you should watch it, even if you really don't like Martha.

See you in a week!
