Hell Is For Children

Our group project is finally finished! We were assigned this space under the stairs -

and this is what we did with it.

It is full of fun and scary monsters.

This one is supposed to be me.

See the resemblance?

Hair

I dyed my hair green! I've been considering it for a while, and I finally found a good shade. Now I'm even more like Enid.

Valentine

Last night Chris took me out to dinner at this awesome little dinner called Kitsch'n. It had a 70's theme, good food, and great service. We were the only ones in there, I guess it is because we ate diner a bit early. They even had a litte dating game for us to play. Then we checked out a little record store and an adorable candy shop. I bought a bunch of retro valentines at the candy shop, and they even gave us some free chocolates!
As usual, Kevin put on an amazing show. He has a new song that completely blew us all away.

It was such an amazing night.

Winterlong

My art class had a field trip to a gallery in Chicago. I always find it exciting to get a bunch of artists together to talk. We were assigned a really interesting group project yesterday, so we spent a lot of time discussing it today. We are already having a blast with it. It is great since we are normally locked away in our studios, only seeing the couple people we share space with.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and for the first time I have a date. It just happened to work out that Kevin Devine is playing at the Beat Kitchen, so Chris is taking me. I can't wait to post pictures of the gift I bought him!

Float On

Yeah, I thought of this.

For years now I have been saying that there should be a root beer float soda. If they can put vanilla in coke, why not in root beer? So I was at Target the other day and I saw these. They make Sunkist ones too. I haven't tried it yet, cause it costs $6 for a 4 pack, but I will be sure to post my review when I do try it.

A Part of the Woods

Today was our first critique day in my art class. I presented these pieces:

I used spray paint for this one.

For this one I used a woodgrain tool.

This was my first time using a woodgrain tool, but I really like the affect so I plan to use it more. I don't have a picture of mine, but it looks similar to this:

In other exciting news, the new view books have arrived! This is what I spent my Christmas break working on. I did not take any of the pictures, or create any of the artwork, but I did help design the layout.
